Installing a telematics device or camera yourself is always an option, however, to ensure proper installation and operation, it is recommended that a trained professional or installer perform the work for you.

While there are slight nuances between the various devices we offer, the majority of them collect much of the same data. This includes GPS location data, vehicle and engine data such as fuel levels and economy, idle time, speed, and odometer data, as well as hours of service (HOS) and more. Yes, our telematics products provide real-time GPS tracking with detailed trip history, geofencing, and breadcrumb trails to monitor vehicle movement and ensure efficient routing.

Powered vehicles are vehicles that can be self-propelled, such as trucks, vans, cars, and the likes. A non-powered vehicle does not have an onboard means of propulsion. These are almost entirely trailers (landscaping, boat, intermodal, etc).

We’ve designed our decals to fit the unique constraints of the most common types of vehicles and equipment (cars and trucks, vans and trailers, etc). For example, our 4x20-inch decals are designed to fit the limited space available on the rear bumper or trunk of a sedan, while 20x15-inch decals are nice and large–perfect for the rear doors of a large semi truck. With these considerations in mind, we recommend specific decal sizes based on the types of equipment you have.

This will depend on a few factors. Decal Program, telematics, and camera customers will need to wait until SafetyFirst ships out the necessary decals and hardware—something done only after we receive the customers’ vehicle lists. Our software products, such as eDriverFile, Driver Training, and the Distracted Driving App, do not require shipping physical goods to customers, thus expediting onboarding times. In short, the majority of our services take effect within two weeks of customer enrollment.

Even if your business’ phone number is listed on your vehicles, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have the infrastructure in place to collect, process, review, and implement caller feedback–whether 24/7, during business hours, or at all. SafetyFirst, on the other hand, has more than two decades worth of experience managing driver feedback and passing it on to customers.

With years of experience and specialized training, our Safety Hotline representatives are able to identify a genuine call from a prank call. Additionally, SafetyFirst receives very few fake or prank calls to begin with.

Yes! Manned 24/7/365, our Safety Hotline receives calls from the public all day, every day as they call in to commend good driving or submit complaints about unsafe driving.

While people often assume our Safety Hotline is designed only for reporting unsafe driving, people do indeed call in to compliment and commend the safe driving of others! These reports are just as important to our fleet customers and they serve as a means of celebrating and recognizing the safe driving practices of their drivers.
