What is eDriverFile?
Created to help optimize the fleet management workflow, eDriverFile is a powerful software platform designed to simplify record keeping, streamline data management, and monitor your drivers’ records and driving histories. Built on a foundation of customization and flexibility, eDriverFile empowers users to customize the product to best suit their needs while making the most out of the platform’s variety of fleet and driver-focused features.
Motor Vehicle Records
Check that your drivers are fit for your fleet.
When it comes to managing your fleet, it’s important that your employees have a history of safe and proper driving. A clean record indicates a good, safe driver, while a muddied record may suggest that the person isn’t a good fit to drive for your fleet. This is why it’s common for fleet managers to run a motor vehicle records (MVR) check on new drivers during the hiring process. Customers can run MVRs so they can review their drivers’ records and check for any incidents, violations, expirations, or other infractions.
When customers run an MVR, our partners check with state-level agencies to make sure the driver(s) in question don’t have any blemishes on their record. Our partners do this by gathering the most recent information available from state databases, ensuring that customers receive the most up-to-date data publicly available. Then, after the MVR is run, SafetyFirst will alert you about any red flags that come up, such as moving violations, accidents, and more. From a fender bender that took place years ago to a DUI from just last month, running MVRs helps ensure that your drivers are safe and sensible when they’re behind the wheel.
Motor Vehicle Records Monitoring
We watch the records. You watch the road.
Frequent MVR checks ensure that you stay informed about the status of your drivers’ records on an ongoing basis. While it’s good practice to run an MVR check when hiring new drivers, doing so only verifies their records up to the time the check is done. This is why it’s important to regularly run MVRs on your drivers, as doing so continuously ensures that they remain in good standing while driving for your fleet.
Compared to running a one-time check, MVR Monitoring provides continuous and automatic monitoring of your drivers’ records. By continuously checking various state, municipal, and local law agency databases, our partners are able to make use of the most recent and up-to-date information publicly available. Should any notable infractions or blemishes turn up, an MVR is run and the customer is notified. Unlike one-time checks, MVR Monitoring occurs continuously to ensure that our customers have the most recent data available. With this data, we can ensure that you’re always kept aware of your drivers’ records, in turn helping to keep your fleet in good standing and road-ready.

Driver Database
Organize your driver data for the long haul.Driver Database is the very foundation of the eDriverFile platform. Driver data, including demographics (name, age, date of birth); medical information (physical/medical check due dates); certifications and licenses (defensive driving, CDL); violations, suspensions, and more can all be stored in the Driver Database. With such information populated in its own dedicated fields, eDriverFile becomes a powerful and customizable platform. Many key features of the eDriverFile platform take advantage of the information stored in the Driver Database to empower fleet managers, including:
- MVR Checks/Monitoring uses information such as drivers’ Social Security Numbers to scan local and national databases for infractions or violations.
- Notifications are powered by database information such as when a driver is due for their physical exams or when their license expires and sends you timely reminders.
- Driver Scorecard uses the database to help you set specific grading weights and then assign scores to your drivers based off of those customizations.

Notifications
You stay in the know. They stay on the go.Notifications enable fleet managers to get timely alerts for a wide array of events and occurrences as they relate to your drivers and their records, licenses, certifications, and more. Designed with the same flexibility and customization as the eDriverFile platform, notifications empower you to create alerts that best suit your needs. You can create notifications for the things most important to your fleet and choose to receive them at just the right times. Given their customizable nature, notifications are more than just alerts and reminders—they serve as preventative and reactionary tools for managing your fleet. If a driver’s license is about to expire or a certification needs to be renewed, notifications can be set up to alert you before that time comes, allowing you to take preventative action. If a fleet vehicle or piece of equipment is overdue for an inspection or maintenance, a notification becomes a helpful reactionary tool for getting things done.

Driver Scorecard
The ultimate road test for a top-class fleet.Created with the same goal as a school report card, Driver Scorecard is a comprehensive driver ranking system designed to score a driver based on a variety of customizable factors. By leveraging the rich information within the eDriverFile platform—such as telematics data, MVR results, camera alerts, and more—Driver Scorecard assigns drivers a score based on the factors you find most important. Fleet managers can assign different grading weights to each factor to make Driver Scorecard even more powerful, such as putting a heavy emphasis on clean MVRs and distraction-free driving while assigning lesser weight to other factors. With powerful customization and the flexibility to make what you want of it, Driver Scorecard is the best way to offer a holistic view of your drivers’ performance and behind-the-wheel behaviors.
Once a driver receives a Driver Scorecard ranking, they can begin to look at the factors that contributed to that ranking—good or bad. If their ranking is low and needs improvement, drivers can work to improve their performance in the areas that need it. If a driver is ranked exceptionally well, they can continue to perform well in those areas to maintain their high ranking. This is what makes Driver Scorecard an exceptionally motivating tool: feedback drives change. The scores that drivers receive serve as direct feedback on their driving behaviors and motivate positive change.
